Kingspan, a global leader in high-performance insulation and building technologies, opens a new global innovation centre at their headquarters in Ireland. This 30,000 sq ft global innovation centre was designed by Dublin-based international design firm, Millimetre Design. An extraordinary project which is both digital and sustainable from the ground up.
The Project
Frames Alu manufactured and supplied glazing and aluminium systems for this state of the art global innovation centre in Co. Cavan. The design concept for IKON combines technology, engineering, and the utmost creativity.
Manufactured to Precision
Frames Alu worked closely with the architectural and design team to understand and develop the best fit windows for this uniquely engineered building.
The installation consisted of XTC66 triple glazed aluminium windows and doors and a structurally double glazed main entrance curtain wall screen incorporating automatic doors.
Frames Alus technical team carefully advised on the chosen products. Every opening was carefully considered in order to create the correct atmosphere while maximising natural light and increasing energy efficiency throughout the building. The XTC66 is known for its excellent thermal properties and can achieve u-values as low as 1.12 with triple glazing. The colour chosen was that of RAL 7024 grey to blend into the overall building design.
